How does a Cerec machine work?

CEREC is short for Chair-side Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics.  CEREC uses CAD/CAM (computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing) technology to make crowns in our office in the same appointment.  With Cerec we are able to take digital pictures that form a model of your tooth on the computer.  From that model we are able to design your crown, mill it out in our office and cement it that day.  If you are a candidate for a Cerec crown you won’t have to have a second appointment for crown delivery or a temporary crown.
